Gordon point is one of the places that the ice freezes on Hudson Bay first due to the counterclockwise rotation of the current the northwestern winds and its location facing northeast. Cape Churchill our next destination is further out on this same extension out into Hudson Bay and where we will spend the next 4 days.

Thank you all for your nice comments, Darryl, Donna, Amalia, Chris, MH, Eileen and Shelly. Shelly these bears are protected and only the Inuit can hunt them with quoto's. Unfortunately they sell their rights to hunters in the US. All these were free roaming and wild. They frequently roam into the town of Churchill and they trap them, keep them in Polar Bear jail for a while and then release them on the ice later to protect them. We were all just photographers, mostly professional, some from National Geographic and the PolarBear Cam for some nature network traveled with us as well.

What an isolated, pristine location for a sunrise, Emile! I am really impressed with both of these unique captures.
