Thank you all so much for your comments.
I was using my 400 mm lens and a doubler, the phot was cropped, so I was not as close as it appears.
We where watching another bull and at first I didn't realize this guy was there. I did have a very steep embankment and a creek between me and him, it would have slowed him down anyway.

Ok - I know I'm not supposed to be jealous, but I am!!! We spent three long days in Estes Park, Colorado searching for some sort of Moose, Ram,...something and we came up with nothing! :( Well, it gives me great joy to see that someone is able to happen upon these magnificent animals. Fantastic work, Tamara!!!

I had to giggle at your comment Autum. I have sat on a side hill with my ex, hunting for elk at 4 am in the morning. When I looked up the hill behind us. I see 4 sets of ears in the glow of the dawn. A moose and her calf were withing 10 feet of us. We didn't see them, I am sure they saw us. They made no noise. I have had them bound right thru our camp, oblivious to anything around him. When you want to see em, they aren't around, its always when you don't have a camera ready the photo ops appear. Brought back memories. Thanks Autum and Tam.
