Well, thanks everyone! Gives me hope for next year's attempt, and maybe I'll skim through my shots 1 more time to see if any others can be "salvaged"... I believe my camera was fully zoomed in to begin with on this (ie, the original image file does not have this entire firework's burst) I did crop off some of the top, which was all smoke.

Tricia, I'm now kind of glad my attempts to capture the "usual fireworks shot" didn't work out as planned ;) The comments here have encouraged me to post one or two more in this style of zoomed-in, no-full-burst composition, in the days ahead. (Just a pity so many of the shots are filled with so much smoke!!)

Thank you, Eileen. All my "zoomed in" shots are the ones that came out best... none of my attempts to get the full burst in the frame, are satisfactory---yet that was my initial goal. I definitely like these "detail" shots better, now!
