Karen & Ray, thank you so much! The idea struck me right before bed, and it was kinda funny taking the picture; I positioned the lamp flat on a futon (w/ dark fabric) with all the other room lights off, and stood on the arm of the futon waving my camera around near the ceiling for many 1-2 second exposures!

Thanks, Don--you've got it, but there's a twist. This image was a July Contest Finalist... and I believe it may have been a resubmit in July, having not made it anywhere in the May contest (I'd have to look over my notes for May!) But then, in the August Finalists just announced, my "Light Plaid" made it (taken in the same photo shoot as this.) "Light Plaid" was also a resubmit; I believe both times, I entered the photos in something other than Special Effects, not realizing that the long shutter speed & camera motion would be ideal for that category! Phew!
