Memorial to Mr Key
Memorial to Mr Key
The villagers are enjoying Mr Key's visit so much that we decided to erect a memorial to him outside the church and opposite the playground. He is now so popular in Messing that he is more famous here than George W Bush whose family originate from our little village in the heart of Essex.
Unfortunately he has to leave us soon to continue his travelling

  Thanks Mary!
Hope you don't mind if I stress that it a village though - not a town. There are only 110 houses.

I've never seen Mr. Key before today & actually thought it was a statue in your village!! Your creation is perfect! You said he appears upon 'invitation'...I'd love to have him visit Sacramento, CA! This is soooo much fun! EXCELLENT shot!

LOL - I seem to have missed all the fun re: Mr Key and his travels.
I love the way you've composed the image AND included the shadow from the statue too.....excellent presentation, had me fooled....hehehe.
Mr Key is welcome at any time to come visit 'downunder' and say g'day to the Aussies.
:-) ddu

Hi R&A I went up the church tower to take the shot. My husband was on flag rota duty. They take it in turns to raise the flag when needed. It is quite scary in places with several skimpy ladders and big drops either side and one place where you have to bend double to get underneath some rafters before putting your foot on another ladder. But worth it for the view.

Thanks Ross!
