I tried panning for the first time today. I am a police officer and shot my patrol car speeding by at various speeds with the emergency lights on, at a remote location of course. I took two rolls of 35mm film with my Canon Elan7. I took the pictures just before the sun came up over the mountains in an attempt to get the full effect of the emergency lights. I used 800 speed film in the sports / action mode. Out of the 48 pictures I took only one came out really good. The only problem with it was it was a little muddy or grainy. Was this due to the film speed I used, the low lighting conditions present, or the shutter speed? I dont recall what the shutter speed was, it was done by the camera automatically. I would really like to master this technique. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Mike Murawski
