Absolutely sensational capture. How to you get so close without the fly taking off?

  Thank you Melissa!

Well to answer your question, with alot of patience and luck! I followed the fly around my garden and just clicked away as fast as I could everytime it settled for a couple of seconds!

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments!!!!!

Zoltan, I dont really understand the ISO thingy! Just learnt about the F stops and shutter speed, but someone told me that 50 is good so I set everything on 50! The macro great on this camera, so much better than on my old Olympus..

Dr Silly,

Well you never know, I might just have to try and get a bit closer next time, but I will have to chase the fly around the garden all day so it is too tired to fly away!

Nice capture Rachel! 50 is good for ISO but so is 100 or 200 depending on what you are doing. ISO 100 or 200 and even 400 with a digital camera still allows you to get great results and shoot at a higher shutter speed or for use when the light is not real bright. ISO 50 may not be the right choice for everything you you want to achieve. I hope this helps! Jeff
