Susan. It is very interesting if we can achive natural photo by composing the subject with digital background. It is even more interesting if we can replicate this indoor by using greenscreen for every portrait. I have been experimenting which one work or doesn't. If find it to hard to repeat for each portrait then I will not propose them to my client. :)
Thanks anyway for visiting.

I love your images Johannes. When you say you have been experimenting with which ones work, what have you found? Is there a benefit to using a green chroma screen vs. a blue chroma screen. Where do you get your digital backgrounds? The ones I have seen on line are not nearly this nice. You do beautiful work. The babies all look so happy... they must know that they are in a dream.

Hi Nancy, Thanks for visiting. I have found that some backgrounds are easier to remake and other require the pose to be shot on a certain angle. Which make it harder for me to remake the scene for my client. Then I will redesign the background so that subject shot angles are generally easier for better work flow, ie. " Baby On White flowers" . I use bluescreen more than greenscreen. My greenscreen tends to reflect more green spill on the skin. I think both should be fine if we can adjust the distance of the subject. For shooting crawling or babbling baby we have to take care of blue/green spill because their skin are very close to the fabrics. I made all the backgrounds myself. I hope one day I will provide an online service for replacing photo background. Thanks for your kind comments.

Wow, that cinematography link was really a debate. I would have to shoot both with different lighting conditions and skin tones to see the different effects. I'm probably a couple of years out on that one.

That is amazing that you do your own backgrounds. You could probably sell the CD or DVD with them... plus, the online service. I wish I knew someone in my area that did this. I live in the Seattle, WA area. We have a beautiful tulip festival in April. It is great scenery, rows and rows of color. However, they do not allow you to walk through the rows of tulips. I would love to know how to take the tulip picture and put a person in the middle of the fields.

Thanks for sharing your work. It is amazing.

Nancy
