Wow - thanks so much for your wonderful and inspiring comments. Jill - I went to Fuertaventura one of the Spanish Canary Islands. It is a volcanic island (as they all are) so very rugged and black/red rocked. This is one of the large sandy beaches they have there - great for walking. Many of the beaches are favourites for windsports and I have some 'wave' photos to submit at some stage!
