DICY SPICY
DICY SPICY
A village shopkeeper selling Indian spices. How happy and contented looking he is? No customer, still happy because he is being photographed. I took this picture 18 long years ago in a small village near Varanasi.

It certainly is a great shot. I love all those colours of the spices. I trust he or someone else is still around selling in a shop like this and will be for years to come. It would be a travesty to see a supermarket in his place.

Wow! It's wonderful to see how other people live! This image makes the little jars of spices we see in the supermarkets look so insignificant!
Superb capture Rakesh! :o)

I really like the whole composition, along with the colors and contrast. And the pictures shows me a story of another place, another culture that I don't see where I live. I really like that! Great job, Rakesh!

18 years ago - WOW! History indeed has
been recorded in this wonderful image
Rakesh. Love the expression on his face, & all the colorful spices. That's what camera's are to me, (recorders of history, & split seconds of life) as I told my husband -they are a time catcher, kinda' like a time machine. To me, they are the greatest of inventions!! :)
