Manuel Antonio Beach

	Manuel Antonio Beach F/22, SS 2.5 Seconds, ISO 200 Manuel Antonio Beach, Costa Rica 2005/11/19 05:13pm Original image taken in RAW, when opened in PhotoShop I fixed the exposure by +1 stop. To fix the color, I opened the curves dialog, set the black point to the darkest part of the image, the white point to the whitest part of the image and then the gray point; finally I moved up the curve line a little bit from the middle to give it brightness. I used Color Balance and Hue Saturation layers to bring up the blue color on the sky and water. When applying those layers I used masks over each layer to affect only the desired area. I adjusted the exposure of the mountains by creating a duplicate layer, changing the blending mode to screen and adjusting the opacity; added a black fill mask to that layer and then with a brush painted with white over the mountains, this way only the mountains were affected by this layer adjustment. Here is the original image. It was edited in PhotoShop. Original image taken in RAW, when opened in PhotoShop I fixed the exposure. Used Levels, Color Balance, Hue Saturation layers to fix the color. I adjusted the exposure of the mountains by creating a duplicate layer, changing the blending mode to screen and adjusting the opacity; added a black fill to that layer and then with a brush painted with white over the mountains.
