What software was used to be able to color only a part of this picture?

Thanks Jim! The picture is great!! Hopefully I can figure this out. I haven't worked much with Photoshop but I plan on trying it!! Rhonda

This is really cool Jim! This technique makes for a really great image - I like the isolation of color in just the gas pump and grass! Great scene, too! Cathy :)

Thanks very much, Cathy. This was shot in Snoqualmie Valley, Washington. Near the town of North Bend (where they filmed Twin Peaks, the TV series). The valley is very idyllic and full of these kinds of scenes. Thanks again!

Cool - I remember Twin Peaks, Jim! I've heard of Snoqualmie Valley (we get some of the Seattle t.v. stations here). It sounds like an interesting place! Cathy :)

Jim, this is one of my favorite digital effects (spot color) and you use it very well in this image.

This is truly a beautiful effect...I have paint shop pro and I tinkered around with it trying to teach myself how to do this but I'm not quite there yet..the end result still looks a little messy...I tried the above link to the less but it is no longer available...even though it was for photoshop I'm pretty confident I could have worked it with PSP. I'm going to go check out your gallery now as I'm sure I will be impressed! Regards Cheryl

What you can try is to desaturate your image, so it becomes black and white, and then use the history brush to carefully 'recolor' certain parts of the photo. Have fun!
