Mick - this picture is wonderful. The amount of work that went into it is obvious. You say that you used Painter. Is that a difficult piece of software to learn? Thanks, Tina

Thank you, Tina. I'm glad you liked it.

The software is Corel's Painter Essentials 3, which I'm testing along with others for this kind of work. It's not overly complicated, but has a learning curve, like anything.
If you've worked with Photoshop or variants and perhaps some graphic/art software, it helps. And it has some auto functions, which can be fun. Once you get the hang of the effects.

I like it 'cause I wish I could paint. But I can't draw a straight line with a ruler.

Mick, I love this shot a lot. I wish I had that bike to pull up by for a cafe but Paris is too far to do just that. Anyhow we are learning to do that with latest scooters and slink cafes in Melbourne!

The software is Corel Painter Essentials 3 and you can download a trial version of the program through Corel: www.corel.com.

I think it can be a PS plug-in, but I'm testing the stand-alone version. It's doing pretty much what I'm trying to do. Check it out!

Mick, I must say the feel you have created in this image is AMAZING! This is definately a FRAMMER! I got into photography because I couldn't paint like I wanted to. This is such a wonderful piece of art, Mick. I love what you did with this and the old timey feel you gave it. Everything about this is fantastic and I'm so happy you got a well deserved first place. I haven't tried any of the Corel products as yet, heard they are very hard to use. I'm like you, can't paint at all or draw a straight line with a ruler, that's why the digital darkroom is so much fun for me. Well done.....
