	Lone Tree, Smoke Taken during a nearby forest fire in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. The gigantic plume of smoke extended for miles through the brilliant blue autumn skies. Though I was horrified to see the flames on the mountain, I was drawn to the dramatic contrast of the vibrant sunlit foreground and the billowing, bruise-colored smoke. The next day an ice storm quenched the flames and snow fell on the burned-out slopes. Dan Fogelberg
