Wounded Cheetah

BetterPhoto.com Photo Contest Finalist   Wounded Cheetah
Wounded Cheetah
I found this Cheetah in Londolozi in South Africa, and imediately noticed the leg wound, very dangerous for a Cheetah who depends on speed.

Wow, amazing photo! I love how the subject is placed off to the side. I'm trying to learn to do that with my photos, I had a terrible habit of placing everything dead center. My kids are very impressed with your gallery, they said you must be very brave to take photos of lions and cheetahs like that! My daughter, Jo, especially loved viewing your photos because she loves big cats. Although tigers are her top favorites, cheetahs are a close second.

I hope this beautiful animal was resilient enough to recover from this wound. This is a fantastic shot Luis! Superb composition. I am so jealous.

What an amazing capture Luis ... and frightening to think of what happened to cause the wound. Well done!

Luis, you truly have a gift! We're all able to travel and have experiences that we never would have because of your great work! What length lens are you using for a lot of these?

Luis Louro
Thank you Nina!!! Usually for most of the photos I use a 300mm lens with an extender 2x, that makes a 600mm!!! ( now with the digital, and the 1.5 factor, it becames a 900!!!)
