F/6.9; 1/250sec.; late afternoon; Adirondack bog; Sundew plant. I really like the way the sunrays are revealed in this low angle shot.

What a unique looking plant. Wonderful light and I love the colorful sunrays. Great eye and capture.

Very cool presentation, Gordon! The thumbnail made me think of fireworks. Wonderful color, too! So unusual!

I am awestruck - by the detail, the wonderful color and mostly by those rays shining down! Wow!

Thank you so much Jill, Terry, Kevin, and Marsha! I'm not sure if those rays are truly sun rays or just what happens in the lens when it's almost pointed at the sun. Another 1/2 degree and it would have all been "blown highlights" (or maybe a blown sensor, or maybe "high key"). Anyway, this IS a very unique plant. At most, these modified leaves are an inch across (including "tentacles"), and there are probably 6-10 leaves per plant, maybe more. I'll try to upload a picture of one with the remains of "lunch", seen from the back side. I was thinking the largest one was a mosquito, but it seems too small for the ones that have been biting me lately.
Thanks, again.
Gordon

Well, I see that the attempt to embed that photo didn't work. Any suggestions?
