The Soul Remains
I adjusted the saturation and applied a slight gaussian blur on the flower photograph. The house is changed to b&w using the channel mixer with no adjustment. Then I created an adjustment layer and used the multiply mode and adjusted the opacity. Next I used the polygon selection tool to "cut out" the window which I repasted to create another layer. I used the transform distort function to adjust the window sizing. Then changed to opacity of the window so the flowers would show through. In the layer styles (still on the window layer) blending option, I shifted the white sliders of the Blend If: This layer to the left while I watch the changes to window. Once the flowers showed through in a way I liked I stopped. I flattened the photo and then used the Channel mixer to give some final touches on the black and white effect.
