He was born without a palate. He's had two surgeries & was brought to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (where I volunteer) by his family. They'd hoped that Best Friends would perform the surgery then they would re-adopt him & take him home. The surgery would involve using pig skin to build a palate but after consulting with several top Veterinary surgeons they concluded that the surgery wouldn't work & would just cause Spanky more pain. We really don't know why his family doesn't take him home. The problem is that after he eats, for 20 to 30 minutes, he sneezes up the food he ate. If someone adopted him they could easily put him in a small room or even a large container until the sneezing stops so it would be easy to clean up the food that sprays out of his nose - he doesn't do it 24 hours a day. He's such a great cat & evertime his family visits, and dosen't take him back home, he gets depressed for several days. I'm (we all are at Best Friends) praying that he gets a wonderful home as soon as possible. Skyy

Skyy - this has to be the most beautiful cat with the most unusual coloring (especially the eyes) that I have ever seen. I hope someone decides to take him that will understand his problem and love him anyway.

Me too, Marsha. I'd like to ask everyone who see's this to pray that he's adopted by the end of July. He's really an angel wearing a cat suit.
