Thanks so much for the wonderful comments and birthday wishes, everyone! I deeply appreciate them:-) Susana, for the background, I just used colored posterboard. For basic colors, I go to Wal-Mart type stores and for "fancier" colors or metallics, I go to an art supply store. For smaller still lifes they work great, come in a variety of colors, and are inexpensive to buy.
