This is totally cool, Patrick. I've really got to learn how to do this nightime photography thing. How did you do this? - inquiring minds want to know... ;-)

Thanks Mary-Ella, Evy, and Michelle! This was taken from the observatory on the the 94th floor. Like the Empire State Building, it's set up for tourists and they charge admission. Unlike the ESB they let me take a tripod, but I was discreet about using it. Exposure time was 2 1/2 seconds. The time of day--a little while after sunset--was the crucial thing for the colors. Because we were behind glass I had to be careful to avoid reflections. As you can see the view from this tower is phenomenal!

Thanks Rhonda! If the weather is cooperating it's definitely worth the $10 for admission. My first time up there, hopefully not my last. Somebody local told me they stay open after dark, unlike the Sears Tower--another popular vantage point in Chicago.
