If you want to see the color in the trees pop with life, try working with the light when it is behind the subject. It isn't easy, as if the sun is too low you get those annoying lens flares. But if it's high enough and in just the right position - the leaves on the trees will glow with life!

Beautiful the way the sunlight is hitting the trees and the way they contrast with the background. by the looks of the shadow, it appears the sun was directly overhead yet the lighting looks like a backlight. Did the trees look this way in the original scene or did you create this lighting in a photo editor? Regardless, it is a beautiful finished product.

The sun was pretty much straight up, but just a tad towards the back. I'm happy to say I didn't have to do anything in PS with this.
