What an elegant shot, Jim. What did you use for lighting and background?

It was late afternoon light. I didn't do much to the flower. Just basic enhancing. I just added a black background fill in with Photoshop to make the flower jump out.

I agree the isolation of the subject is good. One can also use black velvet as a backround as that absors light as opposed to reflecting it back.

Hey, Jim, this is just great and a lot of fun! It almost looks like a toy.
I love the colors of the flower against the black background. What flower is this?
Great job!
