Bald Eagle at the Cincinnati Zoo. 300mm zoom lens, tripod, 400 speed film. Taken on a cold wintery day when I was the only visitor around. He came up and perched on the rail right in front of me (no glass or fencing between us) Luckily, I was able to back up quickly enough to get a couple of shots! (although it was a little unnerving having such a huge bird flying straight at me!) :)

How wonderful to get so close to such a beautiful creature and have the good fortune to have camera in hand as well! This is superb, Marie! The contrast of his white feathers against the dark background, and the detail and texture in his feathers all makes for a wonderful shot!
