Hi,
I don't know whether you meant it to be, but I find this a very disturbing image. The little girl seems to be surrounded by a dark and impenetrable jungle from which there is no escape. It's an interesting image, but the very dark tones of the foliage surrounding the child make it a chilling one, too. -Gerda

I have to agree with Gerda, somewhat disturbing but effective in evoking a sense of impending doom. Dwayne

Between the severe lighting, the dead-end path, and the head of the child tilting downward, it does send a message of hopelessness, being stuck in a stark existance. Whether intentional or accidental, I think it's a strong photograph.

IMHO,
Sue

Children of the Corn.... I love this shot. It came out VERY cool. Debra, whatever emotion you were trying to show---well, it is all there. I think one could argue that there is happiness in the photo, only, fake one. To me this photo directly represents how I felt like a little kid. Surrounded by adults who just didn't care.

I don't find the image disturbing at all, for I believe that it directly reflects how most of us felt at that age (by most of us I mean metal heads :)
Childhood is not only about eating grandma's best pie or smelling roses all day.

Rock on,
Vasko

Thanks to all of you for the comments. I love reading them. As for the image, there was nothing intended to start with. I took my granddaughter to a pumpkin farm and they had a cornfield maze. She really didn't feel good that day, so she wasn't her lively self, but she walked the maze anyway. The lighting was so perfect, and it created a halo around her hair so completely, that I just had to take the shot. This was the end result and it does evoke alot of questions and create alot of reation- both good and bad. I think it is very thought provoking. and I am glad others see different things in the photo. That is what a photo is supposed to do- make you imagine---------Thanks again-Debbi
