Anthony, As a footnote to this picture, one of my all time favorite movies is titled "Picture Bride" and cronicles the life of a Japanese couple who work the sugarcane fields of Haiwaii. The title refers to the fact that he chose his bride from a book of photographs while she was still back in Japan. It was quite common back around the turn of the century for Japanese men to go to Haiwaii to work, then as they saved some money they would purchase a bride to bring with them. If you've not seen this movie, I would highly recommend it. Take care, Don

Anthony, nice photo. I love this place. I live on Oahu and have wanted to go back and photograph this place, but haven't had the chance lately. Beautiful colors...Must have shot early to miss of the tourists...

Thank you, Jennifer. There were two buses loaded with tourists when I was there. I had to wait about 45 minutes till everyone was gone.
