Flash of Yellow
This Meadowlark was perfectly camouflaged by its streaked back feathers while it foraged for emerging termites, but as soon as it looked up it flashed its bright yellow breast; Bosque del Apach National Wildlife Refuge, NM;f3.5 1/800s @ 70.00mm; cropped and enhanced in Photoshop; Feedback greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Karma! There was a whole flock of these guys foraging on termites and I was in my car. Every time I pulled up they'd take off down the road (usually when I stopped), so I drove past them and waited for them to catch up to me. I had to get to the other side of them to get the light. Anyway, once I was stopped, they pretty much ignored me. This guy was particularly brave and came nice and close. I think I have close to 50 "bad" shots leading up to this, though.... Pam
