	Early morning fog on Lake Onega We have left Mandrogy and began crossing Lake Onega during the night headed toward Kizhi Island which is above the Arctic Circle. Lake Onega is the second largest lake in Europe after Lake Ladoga and covers over 4,000 sq. miles, contains 1,650 Islands including Kizhi our next stop. The lake is part of the Volga-Baltic Waterway. Over 50 rivers enter the lake. The lake sees about 10,000 ship voyages a year carrying more tha 10 million tons of cargo as well as tourist ships. Emile Abbott
