Little Blue Heron


	Little Blue Heron This beautiful young long-legged bird is a juvenile little blue heron, photographed at the Venice Area Audubon Society rookery in Venice, Florida. Though the adults have bluish-gray plumage, the juveniles are completely white and very difficult to distinguish from a juvenile snowy egret. However, the legs and feet of the little blue heron are a pale, chalky pea-green and the legs and feet are nearly the same color whereas the snowy egret's legs are a brighter lime green and have contrasting yellow feet.
