In the shadow of Big Red

In the shadow of Big Red
In the shadow of Big Red
As the sun sets behind Big Red (sand dune), it casts a shadow across the land, and the shadows grow longer from the trees out on the plains too. There once was a lake at the base of Big Red, but there's been no rain for 4 years.

Tones, textures, depth, clarity, lighting/shadows & scene are glorious, Debbie. Captivating.
No rain for 4 years? Hard for me to fathom.I do hope rain comes again.

Yes, four long years, but this is the Simpson Desert National Park, so I guess rain is scarce in these areas.

Rain sure can be a scarce commodity in the desert Debbie! This is a magnificent sight, and I would love to see the lake there! I have never made it to the Simpson Desert, but would love to go.
This is a spectacular capture and presentation!

Gorgeous capture, Debbie!! We are losing our lakes and rivers in the southwest US as well. Have been having drought conditions for years now!
