Trying to Recall
----
Our friend's mother is in her Nineties. We spent an afternoon with her. Bill was asking her lots of questions about her youth and the things she did as a young woman. This photo was snapped when she reacted to being overwhelmed and simply unable to recall the details about her days as a bagel baker.
----
My recent disappearance from this site (in case you noticed) was due to a massive and sudden computer crash--no warning; everything was beautiful. I'm back (as is my computer) but must research and purchase a new computer before the next inevitable episode.

What a wonderful study in the effects of aging can have on people!!

Great to hear you're back up and running and will be getting a new computer!

Two very painful things here. This disorientation in a beautifully done, if difficult to see, portrait--and the story of your computer problems. I hate computers. I love computers. I hate . . .

This evokes so much emotion, Michelle. Wow.

The bewilderment and frustration of not being able to recall parts of life. I am seeing this happen a lot in the long term care home as we spend time with my Father-in-law. It's so sad.

You did an amazing job here and this could and should be a poster for the dementia or Alzheimer foundations!

That black BG really adds to the true life disparate feelings a person suffers!

You have managed to capture just so much in this single image Michelle! I think this is one of those images that come around or never comes around in a lifetime.
If Photography is about evoking emotion in the viewer, then I would think you have just posted a Grand prize winner!!!!

Hey, sometimes I can't remember why I went to the garage. This is really special. My mom is in her 90s and I can certainly relate! Great capture!

Carol's right! I'll bet you didn't look too happy either, Michelle! This is a wonderful capture of the moment. Poor woman. She sure looks good for being in her 90's though.

Very strong expression, b&w works on this for sure! Cool, but rather disturbing image, Michelle.
