Powerful, for sure Cindy. But I often wonder how their life would be, if released back into the wild. Or better yet, maybe some place safe, but with large areas to roam.

Thanks friends! Ken - you are right in that you can't release animals used to captivity back into places their wild cousins roam. The message here is that wild animals belong in the wild and were it not for habitat loss due to our increasing numbers, overconsumption, and greed they would be. It is unfortunate that many animals live less than desirable lives in zoos. And just for thought - what if this were a reality for us too?

This has winner written all over it to me, Cindy. Very beautiful powerful image. I agree with you, re the zoos, its just a prison for innocent animals who have done no wrong.

I used to love going to the Zoo as a kid. Now I see them for what they are. And so many others feel this way, too, but have children and they want their kids to have that same "fun" we did as kids...Endless cycle.

For a day of FUN for we humans they spend a life time in a prison...I hope one day we can all, as one, really let this sink in. A day of pleasure for the kids or a life of prison for the animals.

This image speaks very loudly to me. So do so many other images I see where we can see the faces on the silver backs, etc., or the elephants living in fear.
