Great story telling shot Dale? So now explain - I can see blue through the trees at both the top and bottom a bit... is this on a lake's edge?

Hi Deb. Thank you. No, both are sky and I was high to get the shot. Check out some more on my blog.

How high up was he? I like how his orange shirt stands out! However he does not look really comfortable.

Thank you Beth and Sherran. Beth, there are a few more images of him on my blog and one shows the height.

You should send this to the good folks at Stihl. Nice advertising shot.

Never thought of that. It worked all the time on the first pull too.

Living dangerously methinks but he seems to have all the necessary safety ropes attached!
A very interesting and unusual shot Dale with plenty of detail for me to look at. His Stihl chainsaw is a professional's tool but he really should be wearing a face mask and hard -hat and I would want to check his liability insurance if I had hired him. I just thought I would say that as my contribution to worker safety. lol

Interesting shot. I very much like the strong diagonal his body makes in the shot. Good color too especially for direct sun.

Thanks Mike and Peter. When I hired them, had not intended to document it, but just couldn't resist once they began. Check my blog for more.

I agree with Mike-neat movement to the shot. And I like the sawdust spraying out to the left. Any way to bring that out?

Thanks Elaine. The sawdust is as bright as I could get it on this particular shot. Came out much better in others.

Interesting subject and I like the composition with the diagonal of his body. The harsh sunlight works in this image and plays to the hard work at hand.

Again -- another great "at-work" shot! Thanks for jotting down your blog address. I had it at one time and then I couldn't find it. Will stop by one of these days. Both kids come home in a day or two so we are busy cleaning house and cooking. Haven't taken any pictures since before Thanksgiving. I am going through withdrawal...

Elaine, would invite everyone over but my back yard is a bit "naked" now. :o)

Thanks Debbie. Need to clean house also, 'cause the kids are coming over Christmas eve.

Ouch! How often does that poor tree get all it's limbs whacked off?

Susan, the root ball is so big that I've had to trim it every year at a huge cost. So this year we cut it back about four feet more than usual. Should be able to let it go for two years this time.

In three months it will again be a beautifully shaped tree with no limbs showing. It does not drop all it's leaves at once or change color, but stays green all year.

Yes Dale, but what species is this tree? I don't think I have ever seen one with quite so many branches shooting off.
