Where the Hearth Is


	Where the Hearth Is Finalist Taken in the kitchen of the officers' mess at Fort Atkinson, Nebraska. One of the very special touches during living history weekends at at the fort is the preparation and serving of a formal dinner. Guests pay for the privilege of dining with the colonel and another officer. As far as is possible, all the food is prepared as it would have been in the 1820's and on site.
