A great place to visit Lisa and a very nice composition with that lone tree.

Shooting almost into the sun, as you did, caused a few problems. The image is a bit soft and the WB could use some tweaking. Would have been nice if you'd used some fill light for the tree.

Even so, a very nice image shot in not so ideal lighting conditions.

It is a well-composed picture, Lisa. I agree with Dale's comments. I'll look forward to seeing his suggestions. While that looks to like it was taken from Glacier Point, I can't quite place just where this is.

I like the composition, but as noted the lighting caused some problems. In addition to Dale's suggestions I might try some selective blue and/or cyan channel reduction on half dome and beyond below the sky.

I love the composition on this! Perfect how the tree does not collide with the rocks. The sky really sets it apart. I don't mind the lighting issues mentioned, but I am sure the suggestions would improve it!

I like the comp on this. Lisa, but I wonder if it's possible to bring up the details a bit on the flat face of the rock.

I agree that the WB needs a bit of tweaking as well.

Hi everyone, thanks for the comments.
I'm glad the composition worked out; this tree was really fantastic in person.
I've tried an edit; tweaking the white balance and a new crop; what do you think?
