I love old rusty cars in fields, but this one just doesn't work for me and I'm not sure why.

Perhaps because the rusty grill makes it appear loaded with noise, or the background is so busy it competes with the subject. Have tried experimenting with it and came up with only two ways that helped at all.

One was to select the background and de-saturate it a bit with a gradient to blend into the foreground color and also added a bit more blur.

The other was to convert to black and white, which helped, but still produced an interesting by not compelling shot.

It could also be the center weighted POI, the headlight, and the harsh lighting that add to the mix. Not sure, Rita. Just know, am having trouble with this one.

I see where Dale is coming from with his comments Rita, there seems to be a lot of competing stuff going on in the frame. However, I do think the headlight looks very cool with the reflections going on in it. Do you have any closer shots of it or perhaps you could crop to focus more on it..

I agree with both Dale and Tony - love the headlight, but at first I thought it was a camera sitting on a saddle, until I opened it up big! I think there isn't enough car info. to let you know what it is quickly... on the other hand, that made me really look!

Wait, a camera sitting on a saddle? Where the heck did that come from?

I think a closer crop. I like the headlight but agree there is too much other stuff going on.

??? Come on, look at it little! Can't you see the saddle in the grass?
