Beats me, Isabel..Seed pods maybe?? They look like what's in the center of the water lily only those are smaller, so I'm not sure if they are related. Thanks Colleen, too..Maybe I'll get a sideline business. LOL Plant people??? What are they????

Hi Carolyn, nice catch and beautifully captured. That is a seed pod for Lotus. And you have also posted an opened Lotus. I know because I took some of the same shots yesterday at the arborteum in DC and they were labeled. Not that I am any expert on water flowers!

Hi Carolyn, Donna is right they are lotus flowers and seed pods. We don't have them in anywhere in NY that I have seen, but did see them out west. They grow in ponds like waterlilies. Great shot!
