I like the concept here, Lisa, but the image overall feels a bit soft.

Lisa this is very interesting. Where is it, and where were you standing to get this shot. I think some contrast may help or a levels adjustment.

I agree with Jeff and Beth. This image could use some contrast and sharpening

this looks like a fascinating location, lisa, worthy of some serious attention. I don't think you captured its potential though. Sharpening and a levels adjustment may help. Getting a little layering going by strengthening the border between the second ridge and background will help some so you might think about sharpening just the foreground. In fact, there are two ridges so you could get 3 layers to enhance the sense of depth. You might try a multiply layer with a mask to darken just second row of hills enough to separate it from the foreground.

You also have directional light that shows up in the balloon but it isn't as strong in the rest of the image. So also darkening the the lower left area of the image behind the low promontory might help reinforce the direction of light and help the balloon fit into the overall image better.

But overall there are just too many interesting things wandering out of the frame. While the red balloon is an interesting component, I'm having a lot of trouble incorporating it into the scene.

The technical issues have been covered so will just say how fascinating this scene is. It really makes one wonder where it was taken, how you managed the POV, why the balloon is there and operated by who, while at the same time filling us with envy because of your ability to gather shots from all over the world.

Lisa, I'm guessing you were in a balloon as well?

i was in a balloon in luxor, riding to the left of the valley of the kings in egypt. I have a lot of shots so wonder if it's worth the trouble to try and fix this one...i know there's lots of technical issues here. i'll post some more.
