Nice lighting and dof! I grew up in Ok. where we saw these all over in the summers. I loved to crunch them and I would spend most of my summers catching the cicadas. We called them locust and there were 3 distinct kinds. The little green ones that would make a song that would slowly go up and down in pitch, the lighter green ones that had a white powdery coating that their song would vary in pitch much faster and the big black and brown ones that wouldn't vary their pich at all. They are a big part of my fond memories of childhood.. ~:0)

Thanks. I'm glad I could bring back some happy memories with my shot. I grew up with cicadas as well. They usually remind me of going to my brother's soccer games. Pam

This was actually a funny photo because I started out taking pictures of the exoskeleton for a biology class I was in then I realized how nicely I could backlight it if I stood at just the right angle. This was the result (not great for biology id, but a cool artistic shot that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise). I'm glad you liked it. Pam
