You gave them a Golden Poppy for good luck I see! :D A true Californian! :D

Mary, we used to grow these in our front yards when I was little and the field across the street had rolling hills and they grew wild there everywhere. We learned young never to pick them. Back in the days of great respect!!! :) I hope kids there still love and respect their state flower.

You did so well with this image. A true beauty. Just like you! They seem to be basking in that California sunshine!

I've grown poppies (obviously), and also cosmos(as in your pretty floral tonight). My cosmos would grow more than five feet high, and their skinny stems would droop during high winds or storms ~ and stay that way! Not a pretty picture, so I gave up on them. But they ARE nice-looking..
