During a series of forest fires in the Wenatchee forest, the morning light over the Columbia river, was a smokey golden hue.

This is just the framing I would have chosen, too. Wonderful. Sad about the fires but it sure gave you a beauty of a shot, Dale!

Thanks Laura. At first, when I came into town, I was surprised because I didn't remember ever having fog in Wenatchee. Then I smelled the smoke and realized what had happened. Fires were very common when I was raised there over 60 years ago.

Forest fire smoke is common here, too, in the summer, Dale. British Columbia, west of us, always has fires and the smoke gets carried through the Rockies. We camp a lot in Banff National Park and I always feel bad when there is smoke because the tourists are really banking on beautiful photos when they are here. What can a person do?
