1912 LeRhone Rotary Engine

"1912 LeRhone Rotary Engine"
Picture taken at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck, New York.

LeRhone rotaries were produced in large scale in France and Sweden. The Union Switch and Signal Company in Swissvale, Pennsylvania also manufactured these engines. The LeRhone used less fuel and oil than the contemporary Gnome and was cheaper, lighter and could idle smoothly at low R.P.M.s. The nine cylinders of this engine rotate along with the propeller and is a sight to see when started.

I'm Sold Going to have to get up there with ALL THE BOYS. Great trios of shots the last three days.
Love that OLD wooden prop. Easy to understand your enthusiasm for this place looking at the shots.
Tyler did the usual and informed Mom & Dad he was staying w/us for diner & that Nana would bring him home LATER !!! So much pool time he nearly fell asleep eating at 6. Sue said he fell asleep 5 minutes into the drive home. AN ALL AROUND GREAT DAY !!!

Amazing close up detail Jeffrey. Great framing and information. I think I am going to love being a grandma. Five weeks to go!
