The Beautiful but Thorny Thistle

They certainly are weeds, and aggravating ones most of the time, too. Big, difficult to get rid of without getting injured, and prolific. But even with weeds there is beauty. Another example is the suburbanites hatred of dandelions in their beloved mono-culture lawns. But early spring dandelion leaves are fabulous tasting and nutritious in a salid, And a lawn covered with them, as we have out here on our organically certified farm, is actually quite beautiful, at least until they go to seed. There is a yen and yang to most things, it seems. TED
