This is the plaque that was in front of this monument. She was quite a woman! :)

Lorna, isn't it majestic that the statue of her portrays a beautiful strong looking young woman, when really she had a debilitating disease. It just goes to show, that you don't have to be mobile to make a stand on this earth! What a beautiful story, and great images to boot!!

Wow. She made a wonderful mark on this Earth.

A lady friend of mine has spent her entire adult life researching nursery rhymes and their origins making a hand made book with wonderful children type pictures she has drawn there. Her husband has held her back and forbade her to publish it. He doesn't want her to get any "unnecessary attention" or to become "proud"...Very sad thing. It upsets me in her behalf. It's a beautiful book and fascinating. I'd like to stop and honor women like her for a moment, too, that had so much to contribute but were held back for whatever reason.

What a thing that this lady here had such illness yet still made her mark.

Wonderful!

Michelle, Bobby, David, Debbie, Anthony, Ellen & Laura ~ Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments! I really admire women like this who are strong and successful even when life seems to be holding them back! I'm glad they dedicated this statue to such a remarkable and talented young lady! Laura, I'm sorry that your friend could not publish her book ... I'm sure it would have done very well. :(
