HMS Interceptor
I found the brig Lady Washington sailing up the Coos River today. She looked to be in good shape and must have won the battle last week with the Hawaiian Chieftain, perhaps sending her crew to Davy Jones Locker. The Lady Washington is a replica of a 18thcentrury 90-ton merchant sloop, which was the first recorded vessel to make landfall on the Oregon coast in the late 1700s. This replica was used to portray the HMS Interceptor in the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean. The rigging is mind-boggling. Quote of the Day: The sooner we learn to be jointly responsible, the easier the sailing will be. ~Ella Maillart Nikon D700, 105 mm AF-S IF-ED VR f/2.8G Lens. f/13, 1/640 second exposure. ISO 200 (5/13/2012, 12:11 PM. Coos Bay, Oregon, USA.)
