This camera rocketed the photographic world and caused one of first major changes since the development of color film (also in the capture) and well before the digital age. Kodak film (shown) is now no longer produced. I lost a patient 94 years old to prostate cancer and many items were donated to hospice. I purchased this one from Friends of Hospic. I will give it a whirl and will post if I can get them developed and into digital form. This camera catapulted Minolta as the most influential 35 mm manufacturers in Japan during the mid 1980's.

My last film camera was a Minolta 600si (?). Don't remember the actual designation but I loved that camera. Excellent capture and treatment!! Perfect for MT!!

Love what you did with the image, Emile... very eye-catching for sure! All the historical info even made it better When Sony aquired Minolta, I just knew I had to try their "not quite an SLR" when it finally made the scene. I loved it and have upgraded twice since than and have not been dissatisfied yet!

What a great presentation and theme image Emile! I remember this model well, at one stage I was tempted to buy one! I can also remember when I bought my first 35mm camera, when I was an apprentice back in the 1950's, it was so basic, no rangefinder for focusing, no exposure meter, no auto film advance and no batteries! Three cheers for progress!

very cool :-) Ijust bought a Minolta film camera at a yard sale for $5.00!It came with 2 lenses:-) Now to try and find film to put in it and a lab to process...Even though I am adie hard digital user now, I still think my images I shot on film are sharper and nicer then anything I have shot digital...Sorry I sold all my film camera equpment!
