My Dear Kind Sweet Soul Sister Kirsten,

I love this picture of Pookey so much. He and his Mouse.

We miss him so much and the pain is so deep. He was such a special little (big!) kitty. He was such a personality. Always happy and social. He was the sweet kind and happy energy that filled our home at ground level. :)))

He had a happy life, a fun life camping and playing with toys...and he was OFTEN into mischief. I often wear long skirts and when I would walk by him he;d grab it! He's play with ANYTHING moving. Lol...My laughter just turned into tears typing this.

Thank you so much for this honor. I will miss Pookey Do Houdini until my last breath of life. (And I will remember this kindness until then as well.)

Thank you for being who you are. I love you, Sister Kiki.

SSSLaura :)))

P.S. I am beyond happy that you came here to Canada and were able to meet all three of our precious kitties. Now two of them are gone. I wish getting old and sick and passing away wasn't part of life.

What a wonderful capture of our dear Sister Laura's gorgeous kitty, Pookey! His fur is so soft looking! ... but is it brown or gray? In Laura's picture of him he looks gray ... must be her DD work! My heart goes out to Laura & Dale. This is a beautiful dedication for the two of them! May they always remember him this way ... happy and content. A fabulous image, Kiki! :)

Hi everyone. Thank you so very much. You all have such dear and sweet hearts. I really appreciate all you have said. I will be sure Dale sees all of your kind comments, too.

Thank you AGAIN, SSSister Kiki.

Sister Lorna, Pookey was black but his face (cheeks?) had white in them from age and around his neck did, too, and well, sort of everywhere. In the sun he had auburn in his fur too.

I have an elderly friend that always petted Pookey and would often say "Oh, he is soooooooo luxurious!" So often when Mary (my elderly friend) wasn't even here, I would pet him too and remind him, "Ohhhhhhhh, Pookey! Mary says you are Soooooooo Luxurious!" (In honor of Mary and Pookey BOTH!) I think Pookey ADORED being ADORED! :))) He knew how to show his appreciation, salivating to prove it! I will even miss his slobbering. he was one huge big ball of love. In his final 2 days he was unable to get into this bed you see here. He'd try and the whole bed would flip over. It was pitiful to watch. I'd run over and lift him in. :(

Love and hugs to all,
-Laura (and Dale)

Much love to all here,
Laura

Thank you again Sister for this. Pookey looks so beautiful here. :) What an honor this is in his memory. We got his ashes back on Monday and they are on the mantel now next to Lucky's ashes. I'll take a photo to share if you want me to? I'd be happy to. I have nice containers for them both... :)

Thank you for loving me and my little family in our home and thank you ALL for being here to this thread for our dearly departed little sweetie, Pookey. He is sorely missed. SORELY. :(

Love, Laura

This is our Mantel here at home, as you can tell, Sister.

Lucky's Urn, as our Alpha Male, is in the center. Pookey's Lantern Urn is on out left. (Lucky's RIGHT, since Pookey was Lucky's right hand man and best friend). Fangy has an empty lantern there for the sad day that we lose him too. They will all be there together.

I'm in tears now just thinking about that. At this moment Fangy is resting in front of the fireplace, and I just glanced at him and his "someday" urn with our other babies already there. I am not sure if keeping their remains is the best idea at times and at other times I am glad we have done this. To honor them and still to give them a home in some small way. xo

I tell Dale DAILY that I am so grateful to still have Fangy here.

Thanks again for this wonderful place to come to remember Pookey. He passed away on the 10th of Feb. It's the 11th of March now.

Laura E. Swan
