Beautiful contrast between foreground, mountains and sky, Phyllis! I am confused, though; to my recollection, the Alabama hills are no where near the Sierra Mountains...are they????

Hi Ann! Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments. This is the south end of the Sierra where Mt Whitney is located and you go through the Alabama Hills to get there. I am so fascinated by the Hills.

The Alabama Hills are a big surprise the first time you see them as they are different than you would expect. To imagine 400 Westerns being shot there is very interesting.

It looks like there is a bucket pouring clouds on the mountains. Terrific, Phyllis.

The cloud arch interestingly brings the viewers eye to the far mountains.

Great POV Phyllis and excellent depth of field.

Thank you Irene. If I had used a little wider angle. Mt Whitney would have been in the picture. The foreground is the Alabama Hills.
