This shot was made with my boots slowly sinking into the sand about mid-way along Town Beach, Port Macquarie, Mid-north Coast, NSW, Australia, looking north to the breakwater.

Fuji S9600:RAW, f/11 @ 1/125sec, 43mm, ISO 80.

Lightroom 2.2 & Photoshop CS3.

The Making of 'Winter Sunset':

The fifth in a series of nineteen waterscape photographs chosen by the developers of Coast Apartments in my home town of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. The large black and white prints grace the walls of the foyers, gymnasium and lift on permanent display in the luxury complex.
The series gives the viewer a journey from the Hastings River, that runs through the town and down the coast to The Gap at Diamond Head Beach in the Crowdy Bay National Park.

The colours were absolutely glorious and I was very unsure that the original image would make a good B&W conversion. However it seems the developers have a far better eye than mine in assessing my work for the series.
