I made this image with my Canon 70-200mm F/4 L IS lens @ 200mm F/4 ISO 100. I set my 7D to shutter priority (Tv) and 1/500 and RAW. I made it hand held on high speed shutter. This camera will do 8 fps. While all of the images were fairly sharp, I chose this one from the middle of the burst as that tends to be the best one most of the time. This is because the camera has less movement at that point in time.

For those who don't know, it is best to photograph the moon at higher shutter speeds because the light reflecting from it is near daylight intensity.

The only post processing I did was to crop it so that the moon is bigger in the frame and a very slight sharpening in Adobe Lightroom 2.

The last thing I will add is that , I have made moon images previously and they did not appear this sharp. One factor that is important to keep in mind is that Air Pollution has a big impact on Moon Images.
