	MIZUKO JIZO This stone statue is called "Mizuko Jizo." It is a guardian of dead children or children who died before their birth. Mizuko Jizo can be seen at Buddhist temples throughout Japan. I photographed this at Zenpukuji Temple in the city of Hamura. Alex T. Mizuno
